Sine wave
The height of a point moving on a circle is the sine of the angle. Level: standard.
Learning goals
- Match a point on a circle to a height on the sine trace.
- See one full cycle as the angle goes around once.
- Read the period as 2 pi divided by angular speed.
Simulation
Amplitude is 1. Angular speed is 1 radian per second.
Formulas
- Height. y = A sin(omega t)
- Period. T = 2 pi / omega
Worked example: amplitude 1, omega = 1. Period 6.28 s.
Quiz
Answers
